how four steps works
part 1: pre-game
Four Steps begins with a simple
question put to young Chicagoans citywide:
Young people with promising answers
to this question are then invited to create small
teams that will convert their insightful answers
to actionable solutions to violence.
"What do you know about
violence that adults need to know
for Chicago to end violence
and make itself SAFE?"
WE PUT THIS QUESTION TO
ALL YOUNG CHICAGOANS

part 2: the game
Eight small teams of talented young Chicagoans with promising answers will now compete and collaborate with each other in a FOUR STEP search to win public and city leader support for their proposed SOLUTIONS to Chicago's violence.

The eight teams to win can win in two ways. There are awards for

The team that creates and presents the most feasible, effective and cost-effective solution to violence as determined by a) weekly viewer cell phone votes and b) the show's vetting process.

The team that has communicated and collaborated most effectively with ALL other teams.

the four steps

Solution Creation by 4-member teams, usually with adult assistance, responsible for the roles of spokesperson, researcher, tech expert and content writer.

Solution Presentation on a 30 to 60 minute weekly TV program over an 8 to 24 week period

Solution Selection during each program by panels of city experts and by viewer votes at the end of each weekly program

Solution Implementation by an appropriate agency after winning solution has been submitted to it for its consideration on a strictly advisory basis.
